As Midships continues to scale, we’ve taken time to reflect on where the market is heading—and what our customers will need from us next.

Identity and Access Management (IAM) has changed. The core customer journeys and platform architectures have become increasingly commoditised. At the same time, the rise of AI is set to reshape how consulting firms operate—ours included.

In response, we’re evolving. Not by pivoting away from what we do best, but by building intentionally toward what’s next.

A Clear Commitment to Ping—and More

We’re doubling down on our commitment to Ping Identity—especially the IDP-less value proposition. I believe Midships is uniquely positioned to become the global leader in this space. Our team sees these capabilities delivering tremendous value to customers, regardless of the IDP they choose.

We’re expanding our work across Ping’s ecosystem: DaVinci, Protect, Verify, Verifiable Credentials, and Authorize, while also developing integration capabilities with Keycloak and Microsoft Entra. This is not about platform sprawl—it’s about customer flexibility. We want to enable organisations to move seamlessly between IDP platforms, and we’re building accelerators to make that transition easier, faster, and safer.

We have no plans at this time to explore other platforms. This is a focused, deliberate strategy grounded in customer needs and long-term value.

Templated Services for a Commoditised Layer

Not every customer journey requires bespoke consulting. IAM platforms now provide robust building blocks for most standard identity flows. That’s why we’re launching three templated, low-cost services designed to deploy the most common IAM journeys across Ping AIC/AIS, Entra, and Keycloak.

Each offering is grounded in well-defined personas and real-world use cases. This approach helps us deliver faster, more predictable outcomes—without sacrificing quality. It’s our way of helping customers maximise value from their existing investments while reducing time to launch.

Our default recommendation remains Ping. But when customers are embedded in the Microsoft ecosystem—or want full control of their IDP layer—we’re ready to step in as their trusted partner.

Building for the Future: Agentic AI Teams and Governance

We’re also building for what comes next.

Midships is setting up a new business unit focused on AI, with a mandate to explore two emerging opportunities:

  • Agentic AI teams that support specialised development and testing use cases, tightly aligned with our delivery standards and best practices.

  • Real-time agentic AI governance, where we’re combining third-party AI compliance tools with Ping Authorize to deliver dynamic, policy-driven enforcement frameworks.

These are early days, but the direction is clear. As AI transforms how identity and security are managed, we want to be there at the front—helping our customers adopt these tools confidently and responsibly.

The Road Ahead

Midships is entering its next phase: clear-eyed, resilient, and anchored in what we do best. We’re building for longevity, relevance, and impact—staying close to our customers while anticipating their next challenge.

The identity world is changing. So are we. And we’re ready.
