What it is:

Ping Identity AIS (Authentication and Identity Services) is a cloud-native identity platform within the PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud (AIC). It delivers core identity capabilities—such as user authentication, registration, credential management, and session handling—via scalable, API-first microservices. AIS enables the orchestration of secure, user-friendly IAM journeys across different identity types (workforce, B2C, B2B), and supports modern standards like OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.

Why it matters:

AIS is designed to help enterprises move away from legacy IAM stacks and adopt modern, cloud-native architectures that can handle scale, resilience, and complexity. By decoupling core identity services into APIs, Ping Identity AIS allows organizations to:

  • Rapidly deploy and evolve IAM features across environments.

  • Enable adaptive security based on risk and context.

  • Meet compliance goals (e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2, SOC2) through robust access controls and policy enforcement.

AIS is especially valuable for regulated and high-growth enterprises seeking secure, composable IAM.

How it works:

Ping Identity AIS is integrated into the PingOne platform and accessed via configuration tools like DaVinci or APIs. Organizations can:

  • Define user flows (e.g., registration, login, MFA) as orchestrated journeys.

  • Apply contextual access decisions using risk scores and behavioral signals (via PingOne Protect).

  • Connect to external directories, IdPs, and CIAM front-ends using federated protocols.

AIS also supports out-of-the-box integration with PingOne Verify, PingOne Authorize, and PingOne Credentials, making it central to Ping’s identity orchestration stack.
